My name is Lydia and I am an artist from Birmingham, living in Glasgow, Scotland.

I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. Translating the world into cartoons is my mechanism for making sense of things! Today, my practice is print and drawing led, with a focus on narrative. I am particularly interested in storytelling methods to explore challenging themes such as climate change, sexuality and disability. My work is often educational in nature, and I am interested in illustration as an educational tool. 

I enjoy working with and creating work for the late childhood / teenage age bracket. I believe that the fictional worlds of comics can provide a safe haven for young people to explore ideas and escape reality in a creative and developmental way.

I achieved a first class degree in Fine Art from Oxford Brookes University with a passion for organic and figurative forms with a strange, other-worldly feel. I have now completed my Master's Degree in Illustration at the Glasgow School of Art, attaining a destinction.
